Introduction

Removing the power cord from any TruView appliance or using the power on/off button on the server front without proper shutdown of the applications and services, have a 50% chance on irreparable damage to the database and file system. A rebuild of the appliance may be necessary to recover from this problem.

 

Solution

You must shutdown TruView appliances via the operating system

TruView Appliance (all-in-one), TruView Packet or TruView Flow

These appliances have a Linux  operating system.

  • Connect KVM or connect to <IP-TVA> with SSH Client
  • Login as "TVadmin" (default credentials "tv")
  • type 
$ sudo su -

# shutdown -h now
  • Wait until the server is powered off before removing the power cords

 

TruView Central

These appliances have a Microsoft Windows operating system.

  • Connect KVM or connect to <IP-TVA> with Microsoft Terminal Server Client
  • Login as "<IP-TVC>\vuptime" (default password "VPM@dmin1" or "truview_1"
  • Go to Start and shutdown the server
  • Wait until the server is powered off before removing the power cords
