Introduction

To minimize the chance of data corruption and the loss of data, it is highly recommended to use the provided reboot and shutdown script to reboot and shutdown the server. 

 

Solution

Reboot

  • You don't have to be root to reboot the server
  • Log in as TVadmin with SSH
  • Change to /opt/tv
$ cd /opt/tv
  • Run the script
$ ./tv-reboot.sh

Shutdown

  • You don't have to be root to shutdown the server
  • Make sure someone is available in the datacenter to power-on the server if needed.
  • Log in as TVadmin with SSH
  • Change to /opt/tv
$ cd /opt/tv
  • Run the script
$ ./tv-shutdown.sh
