Shutting down TruView
Introduction
Removing the power from TruView appliances or using the power on/off button on the server without a proper shutdown of the applications and services, have a 50% chance on irreparable damage to the database or file system. A rebuild of the appliance may be necessary.
Solution
You must shutdown TruView appliances via the operating system
TruView Appliance (all-in-one), TruView Packet or TruView Flow
These appliances have a Linux operating system.
- Connect KVM or connect to <IP-TVA> with SSH Client
- Login as "TVadmin" (default credentials "tv")
- type
$ sudo su - # shutdown -h now
- Wait until the server is powered off before removing the power cords
TruView Central
These appliances have a Microsoft Windows operating system.
- Connect KVM or connect to <IP-TVA> with Microsoft Terminal Server Client
- Login as "<IP-TVC>\vuptime" (default password "VPM@dmin1" or "truview_1"
- Go to Start and shutdown the server
- Wait until the server is powered off before removing the power cords
