Network connections (appliance rear view)

This picture shows the minimal set of ports that must be connected in order to operate normally.  More connections ma required 

All models:

LAN 1: MANagement port: this port must be connected to a local switchport.

LAN 2: not connected.

LAN 5: (SFP not present), not connected.

LAN 6: (SFP not present), not connected.

SPAN model:

LAN 3: MONitor port: this port must be connected to the SPAN representing the traffic FROM the network*.

LAN 4: MONitor port: this port must be connected to the SPAN representing the traffic TO the network*.

TAP model (inline):

Install the appliance between the WAN Access Device and the local switch.  Connect LAN3 to the WAN access device and LAN4 to the local switch.  The applicance does not provide PoE.
