Network connections (appliance rear view)

This picture assumes the PMA isbeing used as a NETSCOUT InfiniStream Appliance.  It shows a minimal set of ports to be connected in order to operate fully.

Located on the appliance motherboard:

  • Management interfaces (MGT) from left to right: 10GBASE-T, 10GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T and 1000BASE-T.  One of these ports must be connected to the network.  This picture shows a connection to the third port from the left.  This is a 1000BASE-T Ethernet interface.  Make sure the port is connected when running the appliance configuration utility.
  • Dedicated virtual console interface (iDRAC): This is a 1000BASE-T Ethernet interface.

Located on the NETSCOUT ASI Accelerator NIC:

  • Monitor (MON): 4x SFP+. These slots are empty and can be equipped with compatible fiber optic transceivers.  Attention: copper transceivers are not supported.  At least one of these ports must be connected to a SPAN or TAP output.  These ports are named (from right to left) if3, if4, if5 and if6.
