Introduction

The panel 'Site Status' is located under the 'Site menu' on the 'Site Overview' page. In early releases of the software, detailed maps (called tiles) were automatially downloaded from the internet wheneven needed. As of version 9, this feature does no longer exist. When zooming-in, the map gets blurry fast, as the software only offers deatil levels 1 though 6.

Solution

Users are required to download the tiles they need (typical the countries or regions where they have remote offices);from a repository and install them on the TruView Central server. If properly installed, this will enable detail level 7 through 13 (street level).

Manual process

1) Copy the new tiles archive(s) to {data drive}:\tiles\ (this folder is already present on the TVC server)

2) The {data drive} is the drive where you find not only this \tiles folder, but also the folder \fredata and possibly a few other folders. It is most likely drive D: or E:.

3) Unzip the archive to the tiles folder. If prompted about the destination path, chose default settings; you may be asked about overriding existing tiles or merge folders. If you believe the existing tile should not be overwritten, answer Skip, otherwise answer Yes

Using the TruView Central's WebUI

1) You will receive a zip file(s) containing tiles for the area you requested; While waiting you may want to backup existing tile folder either unpacked or as an archive

2) Optional: confirm the tiles archive content:

2.1) Open the file You should see a single sub folder, e.g. 1

2.2) Navigate to this sub folder: you should see several sub folders, for each zoom level that you requested. These numbers represent one of the coordinates of the map tiles

2.3) Drill into some of these sub folders: you should see png images with numeric names. You can view some of them to confirm this is correct area.

3) Login to portal and access the following URL:

http://{TVC.IP.Address}/Portal/Portal/Administration.aspx?page=Map]

4) In section 'Tiles Upgrade', select tile archive that you received from Netscout or downloaded from COMCERT's box and upload them to the server by clicking Save button on the 'Tiles Upgrade' section 5) If you have multiple tile archives, repeat steps 3-4 for each tile archive
